Delete an ESET Anti-Theft phantom account from your Windows computer

Issue

  • You uninstalled your ESET Windows product and the phantom account created during setup of ESET Anti-Theft still remains on your computer 

Solution

  1. Log in to your my.eset.com online account.
     
  2. Click ESET Anti-Theft.

  1. Select the device that has the Phantom account you want to remove.

  1. Click Settings and verify the name of the account that you want to remove next to Phantom account name.

  1. Make sure that you are logged in as an administrator, right click Start and select Control Panel. (Click for instructions for Windows versions earlier than Windows 10)

  1. Click User Accounts.

  1. Click Manage another account.

  1. Click the account that you want to delete (find the account name that matches the one from step 4) and then click Delete the account.

  1. Click Delete Files → Delete Account. The phantom account is now deleted on your Windows computer.

Earlier Windows versions:

A new version has been released

A new version of ESET Windows home products have been released. We highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version.

  • Remember: ESET Windows home products version 9 and later use a License Key for activation. What is a License Key?

  1. Make sure that you are logged in as an administrator, click Start → Control Panel → User accounts or User account controls depending on your version of Windows.

  1. Click Manage another account.

  1. Click the account that you want to delete (find the account name that matches the one from step 4) and then click Delete the account. The phantom account is now deleted from your Windows computer.
