Emails have empty bodies or empty attachments after installing ESET Endpoint Security / ESET Endpoint Antivirus (6.x)


At certain circumstances (such as additional 3rd party security tools installed on a computer), your ESET Endpoint product can cause your email client to remove the body from emails or remove content from attachments to emails.


A new version has been released

Version 7 of ESET business products were released on August 16, 2018. This article applies to version 6.x and ESET Remote Administrator. For information about what's new in the latest version and how to upgrade, see the following article:

To mitigate this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Press the F5 key to access Advanced setup. Click Web and email → Email Client protection, expand Email clients and under Email to Scan, click the slider bar next to Sent mail to disable it.

  1. In ESET Endpoint Security only: Click Web and email → Email Client protection and expand Antispam address books. Under Add to User's Whitelist Automatically, click the slider bar next to Add recipient addresses from outgoing messages to disable it.
